So, this qualifies as the bizarre story of the week.
It appears that a South African couple had to call off their wedding because they found out they were brother and sister – who had been separated at birth. Even though they had dated for five years, they didn’t make the discovery until the wedding when their families met for the first time.
I bet this awkward gathering went something like this, “I’d like you to meet my uncle Bernie.”
“What a coincidence, I have an uncle Bernie too.”
The complicating factor is that they are expecting a baby boy, which, I guess, will end up being their nephew.
So, the lesson learned is this. When you’re dating, it might be wise to ask to see a photo from the last family reunion.
